We would like to inform you and the more than 50 000 patients who placed their trust in Telki Hospital during the past 15 years and regularly used our services.
As of 11 July 2013, inpatient care will be discontinued at our hospital, but the Health Centre located on Budakeszi út will continue to operate, with an expanded range of services.
In terms of patient care, this means that in addition to our most sought-after services - diagnostic imaging, 32 types of specialist doctors for adults and 17 for children - general endoscopic examinations and minor surgical procedures will also be performed at this facility going forward. The building housing Telki Hospital has been sold; therefore, in future we will not be able to perform medical interventions, surgery and childbirths which require a hospital background and 24-hour operation.
This has been a very difficult decision to make. For 15 years, the owner steadfastly believed that there is a future in Hungary for a private hospital operating on a market basis and offering high-quality patient care without gratuity payments. Turnover showed an upward trend over the past few years due to increasing waiting times and deteriorating service quality in state-run medical institutions, but the hospital operated with a loss during the past 15 years, with the exception of brief periods.
At present the owner does not believe there is any chance of the long-awaited healthcare reform being introduced, whereby inpatient care involving several different areas of medicine could be operated profitably. That is why the owner ultimately decided to sell Telki Hospital.
